Secrets of sowing and reaping

SECRETS OF SOWING AND REAPING

(First part)

Memory verse: (Gen8:22) “ While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease ”

Kingdom success is a product of revelation of kingdom mysteries. There are ways, systems of how things work in every nation, companies, cultures etc. Also the kingdom of God has ways and systems of how thing are done. Scriptures says God revealed his ways to Moses (Ps 103:7). One of the mysteries of the kingdom of God is that of sowing and reaping or seedtime and harvest time. This secret goes like this ‘what you sow is what reap’ (Gal6:7). Seed is anything God has given you that will help to change your life or situation. Seed is what God has given you to give you what you need. What you have has power to give you what you don’t have. When you give what you have it will give you what you need.

The abilities God has given you are seeds, the talents, the wisdom, the knowledge, the gifts, the love, the encouragement, the smiles, the finances, the energy, etc, the list of seeds in our lives are endless. This law of giving and receiving is the most powerful law God set in place to sustain his creation on earth. And God said as long as the earth remains this law will continue to work and control life on earth. God’s wisdom behind creation says, we give to live and we live to give. Plants give oxygen and animals and men take in the oxygen. The man and other creatures give out carbon dioxide and plants take it in for their life. When you start to give, you step into the cycle of flow of life. You don’t give to get, neither do you live to get. In fact giving saves lives, God loved the world and what he gave (His Son) saved the world. What you have may not save your life but God might have given it to you to save someone’s life. What God has given us is for the purpose of helping or profiting others (1Cor12:7). What you have will connect you to what you need. Whenever God wants to solve your need he will look at what you have. Elisha asked the widow who came to him with a problem: “what do you have? ” What you have is the key to what you are lacking. She only used what she had and her need was met. Men and women came to Jesus and they needed healing and Jesus told them: “ your faith has healed ”. What is your seed? What do you have? What is it that God has given to create your future? Your future lies in what you have.

Tomorrows word: ‘Everyone has a seed’

(Second part)

Memory verse: (2kings 4:1-2): “ A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves. So Elisha said to her, What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil ".

This woman had great problem in her house as well as solution. She did not know there was a connection between what she had and her need. What she had was so small that she ignored it. Never despise what you have. Jesus taught that a mustard seed is a tiny seed but it produces a great tree. What you have has capacity to produce a great future for you. The man of God instructed this widow to do something with her little oil (her little seed). When she obeyed the man of God, what was like a small bottle of oil became a river that filled jerry cans after jerry cans until there were no more vessels to be filled then it stopped flowing. When you cry to God about your need God looks at your seed.

Another widow of Zarephath had a need of survival because of the famine in Israel; God sent his servant to help this widow. She had just a meal away from death, the man of God asked her to give him that meal. She said she had nothing but just a little floor for only one meal. She obeyed and gave the man of God and God’s word came to her, that she would not lack floor and oil until the famine is over. When what you have is not enough to meet your need then it is not bread for eating it is a seed for sowing. So many people consume away their future just because of lack of knowledge of this law. Paul said, it’s more blessed to give than to receive. There’s no one whom God has not given something to create his or her future. There are no poor people but only people who think they are poor. Proverbs say “ as a man thinks in his heart so he is ” (Pro23:7).

My brother or sister, I have good news for you: God has put something in your life that will unlock your destiny. There is some thing in your house that will solve the problem in your house. You just need to locate the men of God, with the anointing and the living word of God who will cause what is you to manifest. When you go to the right place and be with the right people you’ll locate the seeds God had put in your life.

Tomorrow’s word: ‘Harvests are a product of seeds sown’

 (Third part)

Memory verse: (Psalms126:6) “ He who continually goes forth weeping bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him ”

Until the seed is sown it cannot produce a harvest. Your situation remains the same until you do some thing with what God has given you. Jesus taught:” give and it shall be given unto you ” (Lk6:38). When Joseph was in Potiphar’s house, he did not spend his time mourning and complaining, but he used the favor of God that was with him to do the work he was given. He used everything God had put in his life and worked diligently and skillfully. He gave the best with what he had and he excelled. And his promotion came. When he was in the prison, he used what God had given him, he had the gift of interpreting dreams, he cultivated it and he used it to interpret people’s dreams and it was this gift that opened a door for him into the palace of the king of Egypt. Stop focusing on what you don’t have. Stop crying about your situation. Do something to help other people with what God has given you. Children of Israel kept on complaining about the hard wilderness life but Joshua just focused on serving the man Moses, the servant of God.

Those who complained about problems only multiplied their problems that led to their disqualification from entering the promised land, but Joshua only focused on doing the will of God and he entered the promised land. Many Christians keep complaining all the time, complaining in prayers, complaining about the government, poverty, problems in the church, about their children, their husbands and wives, complaining about anything, but complaints never move God to bless you, it only irritates and angers God. No complainer stepped in the promised land. Complaining doesn’t bring God ‘s promises to pass. Peter said: “ silver and gold we don’t have but what we have is what we give to you, rise up and walk ”. They used what they had and later the bible says: “ those who had land, houses and property sold them and brought the money at the feet of the Apostles ”. You don’t have to sit idle because you don’t have a job. God never created us with jobs, it’s what you have that create the job. Doors are going to open when you put your seed in the ground. When you put your seed in the cupboard, it can’t breakthrough the cupboard, but put that seed in the soil, after few days it breaks up the ground and come forth. It’s time you break forth to your destiny.

Tomorrow’s word: ‘ Seeds needs rain to produce a harvest’

 (Fourth part)

Memory verse: (ISIAIH 55:10) " For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there,  But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower  And bread to the eater ”

If seeds were planted in desert sand, there would be no harvest for sure. Great farming is done where abundant rains are. Greatest populations from ancient civilization time were around riverbanks. All seeds depend on water for their productivity. This law works also in spiritual issues. Jesus said he chose us to bear fruit that would last (Jn15:16). The Life of Jesus became productive from the day the Holy Spirit came upon him. Then he began to heal the sick, preach the good news, and many great works. (Acts 10:38), put it this way, how GOD ANOINTED Jesus of Nazareth who went about doing good and healing all those who were oppressed by the devil. The Apostles waited until the Holy Spirit came upon them and they began to do great things until they turned the world upside down (Acts17:6). Pharisees had the same word the apostles used but they lacked the anointing.

The word (Seed) cannot produce results until the preacher has been anointed. This anointing is the spiritual rain. Joel called it latter rain, Ezekiel saw it in vision as a river flowing from the sanctuary of God (Ezek47:1-12), Jesus cried out on the last of the great feast of tabernacles, that all those who are thirsty should come to him and drink (Jn7:37-39). We need the rain of God to fall upon us continually to activate the things God has put in our lives. We need anointing to encourage people, to comfort people, to preach the good news to people, to heal the sick; we need anointing to teach God’s word, we need anointing in giving. For all things God has put in our lives, to bring forth great fruit we need the anointing in our lives. We need to be planted under anointed ministries. We need to follow anointed leaders. Leaders without anointing of God are blind leader because it is the anointing that open the blind eyes (Lk4:18-19).

Anointed leadership and anointed ministries will activate the gifts, ministries, talents and callings in our lives. The anointed leadership of JESUS affected and impacted the life of his disciples. We all need effective equippers who will equip us to maximize our potential and fulfill our callings (Ephes.4:7-12). Find the right church, get planted in God’s house (Ps92:13), allow yourself to be equipped for greater productivity.

Tomorrow’s teaching: ‘ Soils affect the productivity of seeds’

 (Fifth part)

Memory verse: (Mattew13: 3,8) ” Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty ”

God created certain plants to grow well in certain soils. There are crops that grow in swampy places, while others grow well on mountainous areas etc. There are gifts and talents, callings and destinies God has put in us. These will flourish in certain spiritual places, nations and churches. Some people will never prosper until they locate the right ministries or churches to be planted in (Ps92:13). When Joseph landed in Egypt he began to prosper in all his life he spent it in Egypt. All his gifts, talents and calling he fulfilled it in Egypt. He touched and impacted his generation, he fulfilled his destiny and left a legacy that history has not been able to erase!

The moment Daniel arrived in Babylon he began to prosper and God used him so greatly in this nation, which was the center of idolatry. It’s written, God chose Peter to be an Apostle to the Jews, and He chose Paul to be an Apostle to the Gentiles. When Peter tried to go to the gentiles he began to be messed up. You need to ask God, am I planted in the right place, church, ministry etc. Until you are planted where God created you to be planted you will never fulfill your calling.

So many believers’ lives are impotent and unfruitful because they are in wrong places. You need to be where you are needed and not celebrated where you are tolerated. Everyone in Egypt needed the gifts of Joseph. You become significant when you step into the place where you are needed. Your gifts, calling etc are needed not anywhere, by anybody but they are needed by some people, some place. Find out where God wants you to be. Isn’t it absurd how we spent all the time to study plants, animals etc and find where they thrive well but we forget ourselves. We put things where they belong and we ourselves remain misplaced. How sad! No wonder, we live our lives stressed, unfulfilled, sorrowful, confused. Make it your first priority to find out from God where he created you to be planted. God’s grace will follow you where he has located you. Every place Joseph went God’s favor was upon him. God will prosper you where he placed you.

Tomorrow’s word: ‘ The Quality of your seed’

(Sixth part)

Memory verse: (Gen4:3-4) “ And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering ”

The quality of the seed determines the quality of the harvest. Farmers always select the choice seed for next planting season. Abel brought his seed, sacrifice or offering to the Lord. He did not just pick anything that came before his eyes, he chose of the first-born and fat one, this talks of quality. God demands the first fruits. In farming, the first crops are always the best and the last crops in the garden are always the poorest. God deserves the first place in our time, our relationship, our homes, our finances, our ministries, our programs, and our dreams. One man asked Jesus the first commandment and Jesus told him: You shall love the Lord with all your heart, your mind and your strength. This is a measure of quality (Mt22:36-37).

Jesus taught his disciples that they should seek first the kingdom of God and then all other things will follow (Mtt6:33). God’s kingdom should come first in all we plan to do. Jesus taught his disciples that if any man is not ready to leave all and follow him he couldn’t be his disciple. We don’t give God any service we want but the service he deserves. He taught about the parable of the man who gave talents to men to go and trade with them, those who did well, he appreciated them saying, well done good and faithful servants (Matt25:14-33). God is after quality service i.e. faithfulness, commitment, diligence, fervency, wholeheartedness etc. The quality of your work, your service, and your ministry will determine your rewards. The difference between those who are fired and those who are promoted is the way they work (Ps75:6).

Nobody was created to be poor, only the way you use what you have determine your destiny. Some people decide to be lazy and become poor while other decide to be diligent and sit with kings (Pr22:29). All people seem to be busy everywhere but what make the difference is not the busyness but how you do it. What time do you give to God in prayer? Do you give Him the last time of the day when you are tired? What place does God have in your money? Your giving determines the place you give God in your finances. How much time do you give to God’s word? If you change today and add quality in all you do, your destiny is going to change. Begin to sow your seeds and your future will not be cut off.

Nice weekend!
