Building on the true foundation

BUILDING ON THE TRUE FOUNDATION

 (First part)

Memory verse: Luke 6:46-48 : “ But why do you call Me “ Lord, Lord ” and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock"

Every building you see standing has a foundation. There are different things we are building daily, building your life, your home, your marriage, your business, your church, building a city, building a nation, building your carrier, building your destiny etc.

God has something to say about building and builders, “ Unless the LORD  builds the house, They labor in vain who build it ” (Psalms 127:1) Again it is written, “ This is the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone ” (Acts 4:11)

So many people are building on wrong foundations and what they build end up collapsing, many families keep falling apart, marriages are breaking, businesses are collapsing, nations are disintegrating, economies are sinking because men are building on wrong values, traditions, principles. Jesus said to the Pharisees that they had rejected Him, the true stone or true foundation, the cornerstone and what they built has not stood the test of time. But the disciples of Jesus, the Apostles, when they started building the church, they built on the true foundation and the church is still standing to-date despite all that Satan has tried to do through the ages to destroy it. Jesus promised to build his church and the gates of hell shall not be able to destroy it (Matt 16:17-18)

Building without God only leads to frustration. Trusting in your own understanding will only end you in ruins. The scriptures teaches that the wisdom of this age (men) and the rulers of this age (witchcraft) comes to nothing, (I Cor 2:6). So many great kingdoms from Nimrod days, Egyptian kingdom, Assyrian kingdom, Babylonian kingdom, until now, these kingdoms were built on men’s wisdom and the magicians, but they all collapsed! Today, God is again shaking nations of the world and their systems that have been built for ages on human wisdom and satanic manipulations. Today families are breaking down because they have forsaken God’s righteousness and opted for their rights.

(Second part)

Memory verse: Luke 6:47 " Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like "

Today we’re going to begin on the process of building on the true foundation. Jesus taught three profound truths in the above scripture:

                a) Coming to Him

                b) Hearing His sayings

                C) Doing them

Let’s talk about coming to Jesus!

It all begins with God opening your eyes to see Jesus the way God sees him. Some people saw Jesus as Elijah, some saw Him as John the Baptist, Some called him Jeremiah, while others could not be bothered simply guessed he was one of the prophets. But Peter saw him rightly as the Christ, the son of the living God. Who is Christ to you and who are you in Christ? Jesus replied that flesh and blood could not reveal who Christ is to people, but only God in Heaven can reveal Him (Matt 16:13-18)

Jesus is the foundation, the rock of ages upon whom we can build our lives. He’s calling those who are broken hearted, those who labor and are heavy laden, to come to him (Matt 11:28). He’s the only person who ever said, I am the way, the truth and the life (Jn 14 :12) He is the One who says to all  who are thirsty come to Him and drink the water of life ( Jn 7:37-39). He’s the one who said " I am the bread of life that came from heaven and whoever eat of me will live forever ”. He’s the one who said the, Spirit of the Lord God is upon me and he has anoint me to preach the good news to the poor, to set the captives free etc (Lk 4:18-19). He’s the stone that the builders rejected but God has made Him the chief cornerstone. His name is Emmanuel, I.e. God with us, He’s the light of the world and whoever follow Him do not walk in darkness but in the light of life (Jn 8:12), he is the Alpha and Omega, He’s the savior of the world, He’s the lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world, He’s the wisdom of God, He has all power and authority in heaven and on the earth, He’s the king of kings, He conquered death, sin and the world and Satan and He’s the soon coming king! He is calling to all and his voice is so powerful and majestic, it reaches to the highest heights and the deepest depth, it reaches to the remotest parts of the earth and the dead in their sins and trespasses are hearing his voice and nations, languages, tongues, peoples are coming to him and finding life and founding their lives upon him.

Tomorrow we'll talk about " Following Jesus "

 (Third part)

Memory verse: John 8:12 : “ Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life ”

Following Jesus

We come to Jesus to walk with him, to follow him.

We come to Jesus for more than getting our broken hearts healed, our debts paid, our yokes destroyed, our prayers answered, our bodies healed etc, we come to Jesus so that he can change our lives, we come to him so that he may lead us out of darkness to begin a new walk in the light of God. Following Jesus means to listen to his voice, hear what he says to us and follow it.  It’s the application of God’s word that brings change in our lives  (Jam 1: 22-25)

Only Jesus can lead us as we walk the narrow pathway that leads to life, only Jesus can lead us in the living kingdom. Just as God said to the children of Israel, you’ve not walked this way before. The kingdom pathways are totally new and foreign to us since we were born and grew up in sin, when we come to Jesus there’s always a gravitational force pulling us back into the sinful old ways we were used to. But Jesus has come to help every one who come to him, he has not left us as orphans. He has sent us a comforter, the Holy Spirit; He has not left us ignorant, but he has given us a teacher, the Holy Spirit; He has not left us helpless, but he has sent us a helper, in the Holy Spirit; He has not left us in darkness, but he has given us the light of life; He has not left us to starve spiritually but he has given us the bread of life; He has not left us confused but he has revealed to us the wisdom that God has hidden for ages for our glory; He has not left us at the mercy of the devil but he has given us authority and power to trample Satan under our feet.

He has given us everything we need for life. You can be sure Jesus will guide you surely, safely and securely. You can be sure as you follow Jesus you’ll never thirst again. He knows the way and yet he is the way and you’ll not be lost. Even if the economies of the world sink into recession you’ll rise higher with Jesus. Gross darkness is covering the nations but you’ll shine. Even if floods come to sweep away the world, you’ll float over them. Follow Jesus, trust his word and walk on it. Build your life, family, marriage, business, ministry etc on him and his word. Let all storm, shakings and floods find you securely founded upon Jesus and his word. You’ll stand in the storm! You’ll laugh when calamity comes!

Tomorrow we'll talk about the wisdom of God. Be blessed

We continue the teachings tomorrow morning.

(Fourth part)

Memory verse: I Cor 1 :22-24: " For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God "

The wisdom of God

Christ is God’s wisdom personified. There are three kinds of wisdoms:

The first is the wisdom of men: " And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom " (1 Cor 2:4)

The second is satanic wisdom: " But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic"  (Jam 3:14-15)

The third is God’s wisdom: " But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy " (Jam 1:17)

Again Jesus taught his disciples that kingdom insiders have access to the mysteries of God unlike outsiders (paraphrased) (Mark 4:11)

When we come to Jesus, He brings us into the kingdom of the Heavenly Father (Jn3:3), and as we embark on this divine adventure in the kingdom, we encounter God’s divine wisdom. God’s inspirations begin to flood our soul, spiritual understanding, knowledge, wisdom, counsel and fear of God (Is 11:2) What seemed parable to us before, now becomes revelations. And revelations begin to produce revolutions in our life, business, ministries and families. Our perspectives, our values and our judgment change. We begin to see things God’s way, mysteries of life become realities, light of heaven begin to shine in every area of our lives.

You begin to know how to handle issues God’s way, you begin to discover God’s order in your family; You begin to know what to do and how to do it God’s way and with God’s resources; You discover your identity and purpose in Christ.

How you see life depends on where you are standing!  When you’re standing in the valley, all you see  are mountains around you (impossibilities), but for those walking in the kingdom of light everything will be bright!

Tomorrow we will talk about Jesus as the bread of life.

Have a nice day

 (Fifth part)

Memory verse: Jn 6:35: " I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst "

Jesus the bread of life

Jesus is the word of God personified: "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth " (Jn 1:14)

One of the reason why we eat is to grow healthy and strong. Food gives physical strength, likewise, the Word of God gives us spiritual strength. God’s word makes us grow mature and stronger spiritually.

Our spiritual eyes need to be enlightened to see God’s word as the true spiritual food for our life. Jesus taught His disciple to ask God for daily bread in their prayers. Well, this may go beyond the physical bread to spiritual bread.

God’s word is the bread of life, i.e. God’s word carries within itself the life of God, (Zoe), which is higher and greater than human life. It carries the life that Jesus came to give to us (Jn 10:10)

Everyday, we need to come to the Lord in our daily devotions with thirst and hunger and cry out for more bread to feed our spirits. The more you feed your body on the right food, the more you grow well, stronger and healthier. A healthy and strong spiritual life is a product of right feeding on God’s word.

The children of Israel used to go out every morning to fetch the manna that God poured down for them daily. God is pouring out spiritual manna everyday here on earth for his children, but its those who have trained themselves to wake up early daily to go out into God’s presence to wait upon the Lord that will fetch the living bread from heaven.

Fathers and mothers, learn to get your family together and break God’s word and feed on it. When storms and flood come, you’ll not be shaken. Business people, learn to feed yourself on God’s word to build yourself up. Ministers, learn to feed the flock God has given you with God’s bread of life. A church well-fed, will grow stronger and storms will come but won’t be able to shake it. It’s time to see spiritual giants in God’s kingdom who have been well fed on God’s bread of life. You will fly like eagles above the storms!

We'll end this teaching tomorrow morning. Be blessed

 (Sixth part)

Memory verse: Heb 12:28 " Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear "

God sent Isaiah to tell his people that it shall be well with the righteous for they shall eat the fruit of their doings (Isaiah 3:10)

There are shakings, storms, floods, confusions all over the world today in families, businesses, nations, economies, but it shall be well with the righteous. When the floods were destroying everything in the generation of Noah, the same flood was just giving Noah and his family a good ride. When God sent his judgment and shook Egypt with mighty plagues, none of these plagues attacked the children of God.

When God sent judgment to Sodom and Gomorrah, God sent his Angel and rescued Lot and his family. God will spare his own. God is calling his own to run to his place of refuge (Is 26:20),  " 0 Come, my people, enter your chambers, And shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment,  Until the indignation is past "

The scripture says, we have received the kingdom that cannot be shaken, you made right decision to follow Jesus, you made a great choice to be born again into the kingdom of God. Kingdom citizens will not be shaken by the storms of this world. Securing your place in the kingdom of God, gave you security in this life and the world to come. Walk strong in the kingdom and your family, your business, your job, your health and your ministry will not be shaken.

The kingdom we are in, is an everlasting kingdom, our king is king of kings forever. We are not in life for a moment, but forever. We are not engaged in a temporary business but eternal, we are not ministers of trivial affairs but eternal affairs.

Stay on the rock of ages, keep walking in the kingdom, keep building on the eternal foundation, keep walking in the light from heaven. You’ll stand in the midst of the storms!

Have a great and prosperous weekend.
