LIFE DEPENDS ON WHAT GOD SAYS
(First part)
Memory verse: Matthew 4 :4 : " But He answered and said, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God "
It's important to understand that life is more than breathing. If it was so, then eating the right food, drinking the right drinks, having the right shelter and covering your self with the right garments would have been the only things to pursue in life. But the scriptures say : " For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit ” ( Rom 14:17 )
You can eat all the right food you desire, you can have all the money the world can offer, you can have all the things this world can give but all these things can not give the peace, the joy, the fulfillment, the security, you need.
Life is about discovering who God made you to be, doing what God made you to do, fulfilling your destiny, maximizing your potential and serving your generation according to the will of GOD and having a healthy relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Life is about living the life God created you to live, in peace, joy, righteousness, presence of God, power and authority of God in Christ. You can only walk in that kind of life by the word that come from the mouth of God.
Abraham had a bad beginning until the word from the mouth of GOD stormed his life, God said to Abram “ Go in the land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation, I will make your name great, I will bless you and make you blessing etc” (Gen 12:1-3). These words began to change everything in Abraham’s life and his future was a reflection of what God said to him.
John the Baptist was in the wilderness until the Word of God came to him defining what kind of man he was and his purpose in life (Luke 3:2-3), when this word came to him, he rose and went everywhere preaching repentance, multitudes went to him, confessing their sin, and were baptized. The whole nation of Judea was shaken by his ministry. He made a mark in his generation!
Tomorrow we will learn about “ God’s spoken word ”.
Have a blessed day
