Verse of the day: Romans 12:1 “I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship”

Chris comment: In the Old Testament, they used to offer sacrifices of animals for the forgiveness of sins but in the New Testament, we don’t need to sacrifice an animal because Jesus has already given his body on the cross and his blood purified all those who believe in Him. Nevertheless, the verse shows us that we still have to offer a sacrifice, not of animals but of our bodies (physical). When we wake up early in the morning in scarifying the sleep to pray, when we fast, when we sacrifice our time to preach the gospel, when we refuse certain pleasure to honor God, the verse tells us that it’s a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing God and mostly a spiritual act of worship.

Verset du jour: Romains 12 :1 « Je vous exhorte donc, frères, par les compassions de Dieu, à offrir vos corps comme un sacrifice vivant, saint, agréable à Dieu, ce qui sera de votre part un culte raisonnable»

Commentaire de Chris: Dans l’ancien testament, on offrait en sacrifice des animaux pour le pardon des péchés mais dans le nouveau testament, on n’a pas besoin de sacrifier un animal car Jésus a déjà donné son corps sur la croix et son sang a purifié tous ceux qui croient en Lui. Pourtant, le verset nous montre qu’on doit quand même donner un sacrifice, non des animaux mais de nos corps (physiques). Quand on se lève très tôt en sacrifiant le sommeil pour prier, quand on jeûne, quand on sacrifie notre temps pour prêcher la bonne nouvelle, quand on refuse certains plaisir pour honorer Dieu, le verset nous dit qu’il s’agit d’un sacrifice vivant, saint, agréable à Dieu et surtout un culte raisonnable.
