The name of Jesus (Sixth part)
Verse of the day: Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”
In the first part, we ended the meditation by saying that a child of God must acknowledge Jesus before men because if I deny Him before men, He will deny me before His Father in heaven.
Today, I wish to talk about baptism in the name of Jesus because I noticed that there is a huge confusion among God’s children. All started with a doctrine saying that any baptism that is not done in the name of Jesus is a wrong baptism. People justify this by leaning of the verse of the day (Matt 28:19) when Jesus said to the disciples to baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. They say that everywhere in the New Testament, all the baptisms have been done in the name of Jesus and not in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Let’s take the example of Acts 2:38 “Peter replied: Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”. Let’s try to discover the revelation on the subject in order to avoid all kind of confusion. Let’s first examine the verse of the day: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt 28:19). Jesus did not ask to baptize the disciples in the names (Plural) of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit but rather in the name (Singular)…which means that He wasn’t talking about three names of three people but one name of one God.
Baptism is a sign of obedience by accepting to die and to rise up with Jesus (Romans 6:3-4) and what counts is the faith with which we do it. Therefore, if one person is baptized in the name of Jesus and another person is baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, both are baptized according to the command of the Lord.
Here is the end of the teaching and this is what must be remembered the most: we need to pray in order to get the revelation of the powerful name of Jesus because without it, it’s almost impossible to get a spiritual victory.
All that power in the name of Jesus is only possible to those who accepted Him as their Lord and their Savior.
Word of encouragement
If you really believe God is the controller of your life, tell me why you’re afraid in the middle of trouble? Fear is the enemy of Faith! The devil always uses fear to attack your faith. If you can dominate fear in your life, then your faith becomes strong.
Don’t worry about what will happen tomorrow or in the future because God takes care of it. Don’t wonder what people would think about your situation because your situation is supposed to be the situation of Christ if He really lives in you (Gal 2:20). If you totally surrender your life into His hands, you’d challenge Him to be responsible of every detail of His life in you and if something terrible happens to you, it’s ONLY because He allowed it to happen for a reason (if you’re connected to Him of course).
From that point, life will be enjoyable and less stressful. That’s the rest of God preached in Hebrews 4.9-10. Everything should be covered by a prayerful life

Dans la cinquième partie a terminé la méditation en disant qu’un enfant de Dieu ne doit pas avoir honte de confesser le nom de Jésus devant les hommes car si j’ai honte de confesser le nom de Jésus devant les hommes, Il aura honte de confesser mon nom devant Dieu le Père.
Aujourd’hui j’ai souhaité qu’on parle du baptême au nom de Jésus car j’ai remarqué qu’il y’a une grande confusion au milieu des enfants de Dieu.
Tout a commencé avec une doctrine selon laquelle, tout baptême qui n’est pas fait au nom de Jésus est un faux baptême. Ils se réfèrent au verset du jour (Matt 28 :19) quand Jésus a dit aux disciples de baptiser au nom du Père, du Fils et du Saint Esprit. Ils disent que partout dans le nouveau testament, tous les baptêmes ont été faits au nom du Jésus et non au nom du Père, du Fils et du Saint-Esprit.
Prenons pour exemple le passage de Actes 2 :38 « Pierre leur dit: Repentez-vous, et que chacun de vous soit baptisé au nom de Jésus Christ, pour le pardon de vos péchés; et vous recevrez le don du Saint Esprit ». J’aimerais qu’on essaie de découvrir la révélation sur ce sujet afin d’éviter toutes sortes de confusion.
Examinons d’abord le verset du jour : « Allez, faites de toutes les nations des disciples, les baptisant au nom du Père, du Fils et du Saint Esprit » (Matt 28 :19). Jésus n’a pas dit de baptiser les disciples aux noms (Pluriel) du Père, du Fils et du Saint-Esprit mais plutôt au nom (Singulier)…ce qui veut dire qu’Il ne parlait pas de trois noms de trois personnalités mais un seul nom d’un seul Dieu.
Le baptême est un signe d’obéissance en acceptant de mourir et de ressusciter avec Jésus (Romains 6 :3-4) et ce qui compte c’est la foi avec laquelle on le fait d’où celui qui est baptisé au nom de Jésus et celui qui est baptisé au nom du Père, du Fils et du Saint-Esprit sont tous les deux baptisés selon le commandement du Seigneur.
C’est ici que s’achève l’enseignement et ce qu’il faut retenir le plus, c’est qu’il faut prier pour avoir la révélation du nom puissant de Jésus car sans cela, il est presque impossible de vaincre spirituellement et tout ce pouvoir au nom de Jésus n’est possible qu’à ceux qui ont accepté Jésus comme leur Seigneur et Sauveur.
Parole d’encouragement
Si tu crois réellement que Dieu contrôle ta vie, dis-moi pourquoi tu as peur pendant les moments difficiles ? Il est vrai que cela nous arrive tous mais quand ça nous arrive, nous devrions nous rappeler que la peur est l’ennemie de la foi ! Le diable utilise toujours la peur pour attaquer ta foi. Si tu peux dominer la peur dans ta vie, alors ta foi devient plus forte.
Ne t’inquiète pas de ce qui arrivera demain ou dans l’avenir parce que Dieu s’en occupe. Ne t’inquiète pas de ce que les gens penseraient de ta situation car ta situation est supposée être la situation de Christ si Il vit réellement en toi (Gal 2 :20). Si tu abandonnes totalement ta vie entre ses mains, tu l’invites à être responsable de chaque détail de sa vie en toi et si quelque chose de terrible t’arrive, c’est uniquement parce qu’Il l’a permis pour une raison (si tu es connecté à Lui bien sûr).
A partir de ce moment, la vie sera agréable et moins stressante. C’est le repos de Dieu prêché dans Hébreux 4 :9-10. Tout devrait être couvert par une vie de prière.
