THE MYSTERIES OF EAGLES
(First part)
Memory verse: Prov 30: 18-19 “ There are three things which are too wonderful for me, Yes, four which I do not understand: The way of an eagle in the air ”
THE WAY OF THE EAGLE IN THE AIR
Everything God created is a product of his mind. So, creation manifest God’s glory and wisdom. That’s why Jesus taught heavenly truths using earthly illustrations. He used examples of the sower, the seed, little children, fish, trees, mountains, leaven etc. Jesus taught about Eagles also, “ For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together” (Matt 24:28) An Eagle is a creation of wonder and the Bible talks much about this creature and, whenever God’s used an Eagle as an example in His messages to Israel, He was teaching some divine truth to them. These truths were written and handed down up to our generation to teach us great kingdom mysteries. The way of an Eagle is high up in the air.
The Eagle flies at the highest heights among all creations. Great fish enjoy deeper seas and Eagles enjoys higher skies. They play there. they know how to position themselves to ride upon great winds. Scripture says, “ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit ” (Jn 3:8)
The way of God in which His Spirit leads his children, is a wonder to all those who sees us. They don’t understand our true origin, they can’t tell your tomorrow. God’s ways are higher than men’s ways and God has redeemed us to walk in his ways (Isa 55:9) The ways of the redeemed are in the Spirit! God revealed his ways to Moses Ps. 103:7. It’s your turn, God is going to show you his ways. What eyes have not see you’re going to see, you’ll see his ways because you have the mind of Christ (1Cor2:9,16) The Holy Spirit will lead you upon the narrow path of God that leads to life. There’s a way the worldly people think it’s the way to life, but the end of it leads to death. Its time God’s children walk in the higher ways of God and enjoy abundant life. You’ll mount up high in the Spirit like an Eagle, you’ll run and you’ll not be weary. You belong to the class of spiritual Eagles not chicken, so mount up by the Holy Sprit and fly to the greatest heights in God, don’t limit yourself!
Tomorrow we'll talk about " The face of the eagle "
(Second part)
Memory verse: Ezekiel 1:10, “ As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle ”
THE FACE OF THE EAGLE
The face of an Eagle symbolizes the express Glory of God. All heavenly living beings radiates and reflects God’s glory.
These heavenly glorified creatures Ezekiel saw had each a face of a man also. It’s vital to understand that God created man to be his very image and likeness, i.e. to be full of God’s glory and to manifest to all creation. All creation was supposed to honor and submit to man because all creation could see in the face of Adam and see GOD’S GLORY UPON HIS FACE. Moses was called up by GOD into mount Sinai and spent with God 40 day and nights. When he appeared to the Israelites, his face was shining with God’s glory and the people were afraid of coming near to him (Ex. 34:30)
On another occasion Jesus took Peter, John and James and went up a high mount to pray. And while Jesus prayed, the appearance of his face was transformed and his clothes began to shine (Luke 9:28-29). While preaching his last sermon on earth, Stephen’s face changed and men saw his face appearing like the face of an Angel (Acts 6:15). Even when man fell, God had a plan of redeeming him through his Son Jesus Christ and again transform him into the image of Christ who is the express image of the invisible God (Rom 8:29-30). The greatest work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, is to impart the glory of God in our lives until we manifest it the all creation (Rom 8:19)
So, dear beloved, crave for what Moses cried for, show me your glory, oh LORD! Any life possessing everything God ever gives but short of his glory is not worthy to be our pursuit. All we need to chase after in God is his glory. Our greatest desire should be to be conformed into the image of his son. Our highest vision should be, to be like him, so that as He is so we are in this world (Jn 4:17) This is your appointed time to shine. Arise and shine for God’s glory has come. The sun of righteousness is shining upon the church. The heavens are opened upon us and let your sun never set.
Tomorrow, we will learn about “ The vision of Eagles ”
(Third part)
Memory verse: Job 39:27, 29 " Does the eagle mount up at your command, And make its nest on high? From there it spies out the prey; Its eyes observe from afar "
Another wonder about Eagles, is their vision. The Eagle is a creature with the most powerful sight among all creations of God. An Eagle has capacity of viewing an object up to 31 miles away! An Eagle in the air has ability to see a fish beneath the water surface in the sea. With that visual capacity, it can check its enemies, and it can catch the sight of its prey! Eagles see what other birds don’t see, that's why their life is a wonder. The scripture says, where there’s no revelation people cast off restraint. Another version says, where there’s no vision, the people perish
Esau and Jacob chose diverse courses of destinies, because of what each saw. Esau saw his hunger but Jacob saw a destiny. One asked for food and another asked for birthright, inheritance! Revelation is seeing with the inside eyes of your spirit. While, sight is simply seeing with your human physical eyes. Spiritual eyes are the most important commodity we need in life. Paul prayed for these eyes to be enlightened by heavenly light (Eph 1: 15-19) Again Paul taught, these eyes can see what no eyes ( physical eyes) has seen by the Holy Spirit (I Cor 2:9-10)
God said to Samuel that man sees only the appearance, but God sees the heart. Jesus used to discern what people thought in their hearts. Elisha was a prophet with eagle’s sight, the man could see from Dothan into the chambers of the king in Syria so many miles way. Sapphira and Ananias lied to Peter, but Peter caught them by insight. What you see before your eyes doesn’t matter, but it’s how you see it. One man’s mountain is another’s gold mine. The ten spies Moses sent to the promised land saw themselves as grasshoppers (victims), but Joshua and Caleb saw the giants as bread. What you see as junk another man sees it as jewel. What you’re about to throw away as garbage somebody will pick it up as gold. Some people are struggling in life while others are flying, its all about how you see life. Stop depending on your sight begin to depend on your insight. Change how you see and your life will change. Spend your time sharpening your heart’s eyes and you’ll discover that blessings are all round you.
Tomorrow we will learn about, " Eagles train Eaglets to fly "
(Fourth part)
Memory verse: Deuteron 32:11-12 " As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young. Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings, So the LORD alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him "
Eagles have very unique mentoring techniques. The Eagle discerns when its time for the Eaglets to fly. It destroy the nest in which the Eaglets had been comfortably staying, meaning it's no longer time to stay on ground or trees, it's time to fly. It’s time to go to the next level in life.
It then spreads out the wings, take them up and carry them on its wings up in the air. Up in the air the Eagle turn the wings and the young ones fall off. These poor Eaglets which had never flown before, begin to fight for their life heading down and just before they hit the rocks, the Eagle spread out its wing for them to fall upon. The Eagle repeats the same process until these poor Eaglets will spread out their wings and begin to fly. In like manner, God took Israelites upon His wings, (Hands, ability) from Egypt (their comfortable place where all their lives depended) and carried them to the promised land (their destiny) And he allowed them to go through the wilderness to train then to learn never to depend on anything but on God alone (Deut 8:1-3)
We were born in this world and we’ve been brought up with dependence mentality. Some depend on their understanding, some on their well-to-do relatives, some on their jobs, some on their education etc. Dependence brings limitations! You can never go beyond the things or people you’re depending on. Your progress in life is determined by what or who you’re depending on. But those who depend on God can never be limited. Englishmen say, the sky is the limit but eagles fly above the clouds, so when you begin to fly upon the wings of God’s abilities, your exploits shall know no bounds (Dan11:32) Get out of that cage, prison, chain, get off the ground and begin venture into unlimited breakthroughs. You’ll go from glory to glory, you’ll occupy more spiritual territories, your leadership will shine brighter and brighter, you’ll become greater and greater in Christ! This is your day to mount up with wings like eagles. Release forth your faith, get on God’s wings and allow him to take you to greater heights in Jesus name. Stop crawling and start flying with God’s power and provisions. You can fly, you can make it, Paul said: " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me " (Phil 4:13)
Tomorrow we will see The Swiftness of Eagles. Enjoy the ride.
(Fifth part)
Memory verse: 2 Sam 1:23 “ Saul and Jonathan were beloved and pleasant in their lives, And in their death they were not divided; They were swifter than eagles, They were stronger than lions "
Eagles can fly at up to 168 miles per hour. Its one of the fastest creature!! They never miss their prey, just because of their swiftness. Fishermen don’t catch Fish during the day, but Eagles don’t catch fish during nights, but during daytime. They don’t depend on darkness when their preys are unable to see, they trust their swiftness.
The scripture above says of Saul and his son, Jonathan, as men who were swifter than Eagles. David said that God is able to renew our youth (strength) like that of Eagles, (Ps103:5) Swiftness is a function of strength. Those who wait upon the Lord get their strength renewed (Is 40:30-31) Paul said he could do all things through Christ who strengthens him (Phil4:1) Elijah experienced this kind of divine strength, the hand of God or the power of God came upon him and he outran Ahab who was riding in a chariot (1 king 18:45-46).
Our Lord, Jesus Christ accomplished such great work in three year that writers said if they were to write all He did, no book could contain it, divine speed! The Apostles turned the world upside down in less than 50years! This happened to all these characters because the supernatural ability of God was infused into these natural men. When the power from on high comes upon you, you’ll do wonders (Joel 2:28) There’s a divine acceleration coming upon those who day and night spend time with God in PRAYER. Your time spent with God is a great investment. In fact time spent with God is not lost but multiplied. Many spend all their time trying to be busy, in fact many give excuses that they don’t have time for God because they are very busy, they are busy doing things they were not created to do, going places they ought not, they are messengers without message, clouds without rain, they are stressed and burnt out! With Martin Luther, when work increased, his time with God in prayer multiplied. Please do yourself a favor, don’t run your life on empty batteries, get yourself in God’s presence daily and wait upon the Lord until He fills you. May the Lord strengthen you for divine swiftness!
Tomorrow we see: ‘Eagles nests upon tops of high mountains’
(sixth part)
Memory verse: Job39:27-28 " Does the eagle mount up at your command, And make its nest on high? On the rock it dwells and resides, On the crag of the rock and the stronghold "
Eagles don’t live in valleys, they build their nests on tops of very high mountains. That’s how far their courage and faith can go.
The Angel came to rescue Lot out of Sodom and instructed him to escape into the mountains, but Lot chose to stay in the valley. He feared that evil would befall him, which evil he had not seen (Gen19:17-20) Multitudes chose to live in the valleys of indecisiveness (Joel3:14), while others are living in valleys of Baca ( tears, murmurings etc); But the Eagle does not wait for someone’s command, he does not wait for someone to preach him good, nor does he wait for emotional excitement, he just make up his mind , mount up on his wings, look for a very high mountain where no one have ever dared to reach , he get to the top and build his nest there and make it his home. Eagles are not threatened by the unknown enemies or evil, Eagles don’t fear to survive in rocky mountains. Paul had an Eagle’s mind: " Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus " (Phil3:13-14) When you stay in valleys, all you’ll see are impossibilities, mountains. When mountains surround you, they obstruct your vision. Eagles stay on mountains and from there they spy their prey. Mountain lifestyle is a life lived in God’s presence, a place of God’s glory, a prayerful life.
God instructed Abraham to sacrifice Isaac on mount Moriah (Gen 22:2), God met with Moses on mount Horeb when he came to send him to deliver the Israelites (Ex 3:1-2), God made a covenant with the nation of Israel upon mount Sinai, God gave Moses Ten commandments on mount Sinai, Moses spent with God 40 days on mount Sinai and his face shone with God’s glory, Jesus went to pray on a high mount and his face shone, Jesus was crucified on mount Calvary! Its time you climb up your mountain and make your nest in God’s presence.
Enjoy a new adventure with God this weekend!
