TREASURES OF GOD’S HOUSE
(First part)
Memory verse (2Kings24: 13): “ And he carried out from there all the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king’s house, and he cut in pieces all the articles of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said ”.
When God told Moses to build him a sanctuary, he gave him the plan and pattern of how he was to build it and he gave him all details of the vessels and articles of the temple. And God commanded Moses; to do everything according to the pattern he had given to him in the mountain (Ex 25:8-9). The vessels of God’s sanctuary were very costly and precious, made of gold, silver, brass, bronze and other treasures.
In the New Testament Jesus said he came to build his house and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it (Matt 16:18). Jesus’ house that he is building until now is the church. “ But Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end ” (Heb3: 6). So, the church i.e. those whom God has called out of darkness into his kingdom is the house of God (Col1: 13, Rom8: 29-30, 1Pet2: 5). This New Testament house is not built by man but by Jesus Christ and it is designed to be a glorious house (Eph 5: 25-27). This house is designed to be full of precious spiritual treasures. In the Old Testament the temple of God was the most glorious house in all the earth, today the church of Jesus should be the most glorious institution in all the earth. The church of Jesus should be the most powerful, holy and pure, most loving, most united, full of the highest dimension of wisdom and knowledge, rich is this world and rich toward God, shaking the gates of hell and turning the world over to God, shining to dispel all the darkness of the kingdom of hell, trampling Satan under our feet, impacting the world with the power, love and glory of God, agents of change wherever God places us!
The king of Babylon came and took away all the treasures of God’s house when the children of Israel turned away from walking with God. Today the church is walking away from God’s presence and precepts of his word and Satan has stolen away spiritual treasures from the church. It’s time we awake from spiritual sleep and seek God again to recover the treasures back in our lives (2cor4: 7).
Tomorrow’s subject: “ Satan is a thief ”.
(Second part)
Memory verse (John10: 10) “ The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly ”.
Satan is a thief, and that what he lives to do daily. He steals believers’ peace, joy, love, patience, kindness, humility, prayer life, wisdom, word of God, faith, lives, health, salvation etc. Satan has stolen a lot of treasures from the church of Christ. You enter many churches and it’s so boring, so cold, so religious, no love, no life any longer, no joy of the Lord, no joy of salvation. You enter God’s house and all you find is rules and legalism, hypocrisy and traditions of men, title and positions yet no power of God. The god of this world has come into the temples of God and has stolen all God’s treasures out God’s house, because many of us have turned away from following the Lord. We have lost our first love for God. We have stopped seeking his kingdom and his righteousness.
We have lost hunger and thirst for spiritual and heavenly things. The lust for material and worldly things has prostituted us against our loving father. We stopped spending time with him in worship and fellowship. Our hearts are far away from him. Many are serving him with our fleshly effort but our hearts are far from him. Many are worshipping him with our lips but the hearts are far from him. The traditions of men have become our doctrines instead of God’s word of life. The robber Satan has broken into God’s house of prayer and he has stolen everything precious and he has put every wicked thing in God’s house.
It is time every one of us, dear ones, to examine our lives like what we see in (Rev3 & 3). What are the treasures that Satan has stolen from your life, is it your purity, is it your prayer life, is it your holiness, is it your hunger and thirst for God, is it the anointing of God, is your intercession, is it your time in God’s word, is it the gifts of the Holy Spirit, is it your spiritual sensitivity? It is time to get back what Satan has stolen from God’s house. We no longer see the glory of the Lord in the church; it’s the treasures in the house that makes it glorious. It’s the power of God, the anointing of God, the prayerfulness, the holiness, the hunger and thirst for God, the love of God, the true worship in spirit and truth, the miracles, signs and wonders that made the early church a powerful and glorious church. These are the same things that will make your life powerful, effective and glorious.
Tomorrow’s subject: “ Getting back God’s word in his house ”
(Third part)
Memory verse (Matt 15:3) " He answered and said to them, Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition ?"
Jesus rebuked sharply the Pharisees who were ministers of God under the old testament for exalting the traditions of men and trampling under their feet the word of God. And he noted that when men’s traditions are enthroned in the house of God, they make God’s word powerless and lifeless. Satan had stolen away God’s word from their ministry and instead he gave them traditions of men. People honored and observed traditions. Jesus decided to break their traditions and they attacked him. God’s word lost a place in their ministry, doctrine and lives.
Jesus said: my words are life and they are Spirit. When God’s living word is stolen away from the church and your life, the life of the church is lost (Jn 6: 63). The life of the church comes from the word that comes from the mouth of God (Matt4: 4). In the beginning there was the word and the word was with God and the word was God and all things were created by the word (Jn1: 1-3). The beginning of transformation and revolution will come by the word of God that flows into your spirit. God and his word are inseparable. They are always together and are one. Where God’s presence is, there his word is. God and his word are equal, he is the creator and his word . God ‘s word is the beginning of change, healing, promotion, etc. Scripture says: Faith comes by hearing and healing by the word of Christ (Rom 10:17). God’s word is fire. God’s word is the sword of the Sprit (Eph6: 18). God’s word is the living bread. God was there in the beginning and it will abide forever.
God commanded Joshua to keep his word in his mouth, keep meditating on it, keep practicing it and he promised that if he does that he will would have good success (Josh1: 8). True kingdom prosperity and success is a product of God’s word in your life. The only sword you have that will smite the enemy of your soul is God’s word in your life (Eph6: 17). Beloved, Satan has stolen from you the mighty weapon, the light, the bread of life, get up and cast out the devil, cast away the traditions and return to the bible, ask the Holy Sprit to begin teaching you again. Put away the fake (traditions) and receive back the real thing.
Tomorrows subject: “ Worship”
(Fourth part)
Memory verse (Matt 15:8-9): " These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men ".
Satan has stolen true worship from today’s church and he has given the believers a fake thing that looks like worship but a worldly thing. Jesus has a plan of what kind of worship he wants to build in his church. We need to know the worship the Lord desires from us and we offer that to God. Jesus brought new order of worship in the church, i.e. spiritual worship (Jn4: 23-24)
True worship is inspired by the Holy Spirit. Without him in our lives, our worship wells are dry and empty. On the day of Pentecost when the believers were filled with the Holy Spirit, for the first time, they praised and worshipped God (Acts2: 11). To worship God in the spirit and truth, you need to be filled with the Holy Spirit. You don’t need to have a good voice; neither does the Bible require it, the Bible only tells us to make good noise unto the Lord. Worship is not about a place. Jesus taught that it is not in Jerusalem nor is it in the mountain that people worship the Father, but in the Spirit. Worship is what takes place in your spirit. Instruments are good, but worship is not instrument. Scripture teaches that when you are filled with the Holy Sprit, psalms, hymns and spiritual songs begin to play within your heart or spirit (Eph5: 18). Can you imagine what the church could be like if every believer is full of spiritual songs in his heart! This is how the early church believers lived and this is what Satan has stolen from today’s church and from you. And instead Satan has filled your life with stress, fear, confusion, heaviness, sorrow and complaints. In many churches, there is a great spiritual dryness that the church has not even a song to sing, so they imitate the world and this has brought spiritual death in the church. It’s time we kick the devil in the face and throw out of the church the rubbish of the world and go to our knees and cry out to God to pour upon us his Spirit and worship shall return in God’s house which is you. When true worship comes into your life and the church, God’s glory will be seen by all and this is one of the great treasures of the church and our lives.
Tomorrow’s subject: “ Prayer”
(Fifth part)
Memory verse (Matt21: 13): " And He said to them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves "
God’s house is a house of prayer. Prayer is one of the most precious treasures of God’s house. Either the corporate church or a believer as an individual, we’re the house of prayer. Prayer must be one of the treasures we possess in our lives. There is supposed to be prayer in your personal life. In your family there should be a family prayer altar. As church congregation there should be congregational prayers. There is supposed to be prayer in all departments of the church.
Prayer is a mighty weapon in the church. David went to the Ahimelech, the high priest and in the temple there was the sword of Goliath and Ahimelech gave it to David (1Sam21: 9). It's time we bring the weapon that slays the giants in the life of the church and in our personal lives. This weapon is might through God to destroy satanic strongholds over lives of people, over cities, over nations and over families.
Throughout the Bible, the men who prayed changed nations, defeated their enemies, did wonders, walked with God, had God’s power in their lives, they were heard in heavens and they shook the gates of hell. Prayer releases God’s power in the church. By prayer and intercession we will take territories, we will destroy the gates of hell in nations and cities, we will establish God’s kingdom in people's lives, we shall take the gospel to the ends of the earth, and God’s power shall be manifested and demonstrated. Through prayer your life and the church shall become powerhouses in the earth. In the scripture we read, verse 14 (Matt 21:14), it is written that after Jesus had thrown out all the kinds rubbish that was done in the temple, the lame, the sick etc who came into the temple were healed. Prayer will release the miracles, signs and wonders in the church. A prayerful church is a might instrument in God’s hand. If prayer is not in your life am afraid, Satan may have made your life a den of every evil things, evil temptations, evil desires, lusts of the world etc. It’s your time beloved to arise and call upon the Lord and let him throw them out and let the miraculous begin to flow into your life.
Tomorrow’s subject: “The Anointing of the Holy Spirit”
(Sixth part)
Memory verse (Luke24: 49) “ Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high ”
The Church of Jesus is designed to be a powerhouse in the earth. Paul put it this way: the kingdom of God is not just words but it’s in power (1 Cor4: 20). The Lord’s Prayer gives some more light about the church, which is God’s kingdom on the earth, yours is the kingdom, the power and glory. This power of God is what is commonly called the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Scripture says that God anointed Jesus Christ of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power and he went about doing good and healing all those Satan had oppressed (Act10: 38).
Taking territories in the Spirit, winning the lost to the kingdom of God, healing the sick, destroying satanic oppression upon nations, cities, families and establishing God’s kingdom is all about power. The church of our day has lost what it takes to make disciples of all the nations, which is our divine commission. The early church heeded the voice of the Lord Jesus and they waited for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon their lives (Act1: 14-26), (Act2: 1-4). The early church possessed one of the most precious treasures, i.e. the anointing of God. They healed the sick, they preached the gospel until they evangelized their generation, they planted churches, multitudes were converted, and witchcraft was crushed in every city they entered.
Beloved, it’s time we wait upon the Lord. It’s time to seek the Lord for the power that will make a difference in your life and through your life. You are a powerhouse but does your house contain this miracle working, world changing power of God? It’s time to get the power back in the house. The sick, oppressed, blind, problematic, brokenhearted should come into God’s house and find God’s power there. My heart is on fire, I want to see nations, cities touched and changed by the anointing of God. Am desperate for more and more anointing. The needs of humanity are enormous and we can’t meet them by power and might, we can’t meet them by theology alone and philosophy, we will make a difference by the anointing (Zech 4: 6). Nations are hungry for God’s power.
Nice weekend and see you next Monday!
